Scott Addict 40 – Endurance Road Bike
Blend performance and racing specs with a more comfortable fit, and you’ve got the SCOTT Addict 40. In fact, it’s a fast road bike that easily matches any ride, pace, or destination you have in mind. And it won’t ask you to pretzel yourself into a racing position to get there. So, starting with the lightweight, strong HMF carbon frame, we focused the design on balancing road performance with all-road comfort.
So the frame is 25% more vertically compliant than racing bikes, for a softer, more composed ride over rough conditions. The geo is also more open, with a taller stack and shorter reach than a racing setup. That gives you all-day comfort in the saddle. Plus, tire clearance goes up to 38mm for maximum cush if you take your Addict 40 on a mixed-surface adventure.
That said, it’s not a slouch when you want to up the pace. Also, it’s responsive on the pedals, swift on the climbs, and planted on the descent. It’s just as eager to get your heart racing as it is slow-rolling to a coffee stop on a casual Sunday. So we equipped Addict 40 for whatever ride you take on. Meanwhile, Shimano’s 105 Di2 electronic 2x drivetrain delivers workhorse performance and reliability on a budget. And durable Syncros RP2.0 wheels on Schwalbe ONE tires give you a quick, confident roll anywhere you go.

So we built the Addict for all-day comfort. By reshaping the seat tube and refining the tube profiles, we’ve given it 25% more compliance than the race-focused Addict RC.
Geometry
Also, a relaxed geometry boosts comfort on every ride. The Addict features increased stack and reduced reach, so you get an easy, natural fit. In fact, riding with 0mm spacers on the Addict matches 35mm spacers on the Addict RC, giving you a more upright and enjoyable position.
Carbon Technology HMX-HMF
In fact, the Addict comes in two proven carbon layups. The HMF version strikes the perfect balance between lightweight construction, stiffness, and comfort, while the HMX version pushes performance even further. Because it uses higher-modulus carbon fibres, we can remove material without compromising strength—so you get an even lighter frame that still delivers the ride characteristics you expect.
