Scott Scale Gravel

The name is the clue. Scale is Scott’s cross-country race platform, and the Scale Gravel takes that same thinking off the race course and points it at long, loose, fast days a long way from the tarmac. Scott positions it as lightweight, agile and built to cover ground quickly over any terrain.What sets the Scott Scale Gravel apart from every other gravel bike on the floor is the cockpit. There are no drop bars here. The Scale Gravel 20 runs a 740mm flat Syncros alloy bar with a 9-degree rise, a rigid Scale HMF carbon fork with a tapered steerer, and 29 x 2.4in Maxxis Aspen tubeless-ready tyres. The result is mountain-bike levels of control and float across loose gravel, sand and singletrack, without the weight or the servicing of a suspension fork.Gearing is built for the same job. SRAM’s Eagle 70 Transmission gives 12 speeds with a 10-52 cassette, so there is always something left for a steep, loose pinch at the end of a long day. Shimano MT401 hydraulic disc brakes handle the descents, and Syncros cable integration keeps the front end clean.The range spans alloy and carbon frames, from the alloy builds up to the top-end Scale Gravel RC, with SRAM electronic shifting on the higher-spec models.This is the bike for bikepacking, marathon gravel events, rough fire roads, and anyone who wants the confidence to take the rougher line.
