The Oakley Meta Vanguard is Oakley’s sport-focused AI glasses, made with Meta for cycling, running and training. It combines a wraparound Prizm shield with a camera, open-ear speakers and Meta AI. Here is what it does on the bike, how long the battery lasts, and who it suits.
What does the Oakley Meta Vanguard do?
- Camera: an ultra-wide 12MP camera captures photos and 3K video from your point of view.
- Audio: open-ear speakers in the temples play music and calls, while you still hear traffic.
- Meta AI: ask questions and control the glasses hands-free with your voice.
- Garmin and Strava: ask for stats such as pace from a compatible Garmin device, then add them to your photos and videos after the ride.
- Protection: Prizm lenses and an IP67 rating for sweat, dust and water.
Oakley Meta Vanguard battery life
Oakley rates the Vanguard for up to 9 hours of daily use and up to 6 hours of continuous audio. The charging case adds up to 36 more hours, and a full charge takes about 75 minutes. So most riders will charge it after a big day, much like a bike computer. Note that a USB-C cable is not included.
Lenses and colourways

Who is the Oakley Meta Vanguard for?
The Vanguard suits riders who want to film their rides, train with live data and stay connected without taking out their phone. It is also a great fit for triathletes and runners.
