Triathlon bike FAQs
What is the difference between a TT bike and a triathlon bike?
They look alike, but TT bikes must follow UCI rules for road time trials. Triathlon bikes are free of those rules, so they often add storage for food and drinks. Many models, such as the Plasma RC, can be set up either way.
Do I need a triathlon bike for my first triathlon?
No. A road bike with clip-on aero bars works well for your first races. However, once you race regularly, a tri bike is faster and more comfortable on the aero bars.
Why is a bike fit so important on a tri bike?
You hold the aero position for hours, so small changes matter. For this reason, every new bike from us includes a free bike fit and first service.
