The Scott Speedster is the most accessible way into a proper Scott road bike. An alloy frame, a carbon fork, fully integrated cables and hydraulic disc brakes — it looks and rides well above what you pay for it.

Scott describes the Speedster 20 as a light, agile and cost-efficient alloy road bike, and that is exactly what it is. The frame is 6061 double-butted alloy with the cables routed internally through the cockpit, so the front end is as tidy as bikes costing several times as much. Up front sits a Speedster HMF Disc carbon fork, which takes the sting out of rough surfaces while keeping the steering precise. The Scott Speedster 20 runs Shimano’s Cues groupset in a 22-speed setup, with a 50-34 compact crankset and an 11-39 cassette. That is a genuinely wide gear range — low enough to get you up anything around Melbourne, and long enough to hold a bunch on the flat. Shimano Cues hydraulic disc brakes on 160mm rotors give consistent stopping power in the wet, and the Syncros Race X25 wheels are laced to Formula Team II CL hubs.Tyre clearance is the quiet highlight. It ships on 700x32C rubber, so you get real comfort on broken back roads and gravel paths, with room to go wider again if you want it.A Scott Speedster is the right call if this is your first proper road bike, if you are stepping up from a flat-bar hybrid, or if you want something you can commute on through the week and still ride hard on the weekend. When you are ready to go lighter and move to carbon, the Scott Addict is the next step up in the same endurance family.Come and see one in person — contact us or drop into 107 Bay Street, Port Melbourne, and we will get you on the right size.
