Description
The Tacx Nēra is a direct-drive smart trainer with built-in motion. It moves forward, back and side to side under you, so indoor riding feels much closer to riding on the road. Also, it handles sprints up to 2,200 watts and climbs up to 20%, which makes it a serious training tool for road cyclists.

Pre-order now
The Tacx Nēra is brand new from Garmin, and Garmin Australia expects stock in late November to early December 2026. Pre-order now and we’ll let you know the moment it lands.

Ride that feels natural
Most trainers hold your bike rigid. However, the Nēra lets the bike shift and sway as you pedal, which takes load off your body on long sessions. As a result, standing efforts and sprints feel far more like the real thing.
Accurate and easy to set up
Garmin claims power and cadence accuracy within 1%, and there’s no calibration to do. Plus, the trainer comes ready to ride. Choose the version with a pre-installed 11-speed cassette, or the Zwift Ready version with a Zwift Cog and Zwift Click for virtual shifting.
Built for virtual racing
Built-in Wi-Fi gives a stable connection for Zwift and other apps, alongside ANT+ and Bluetooth. Then the Tacx Training app adds virtual courses, workouts and challenges. Pair it with the Tacx Alpine and you can also simulate climbs up to 25% and descents down to -10%.
Which version should you choose?
- With Cassette – ready to ride with an 11-speed Shimano/SRAM cassette fitted.
- Zwift Ready – a Zwift Cog and Zwift Click for virtual shifting, so any bike fits without matching gears.
Good to know
- The Tacx Nēra fits quick release and 142 or 148 mm thru-axle bikes with the included adapters.
- Folding legs and a built-in handle make it easier to store.
- It needs mains power.
