Description
Speed Sensor 2 – accurate speed, indoors and out
The Garmin Speed Sensor 2 straps to your front or rear hub and measures speed from wheel rotation. So your speed and distance stay accurate in tunnels, under trees and on an indoor trainer, where GPS cannot help.
It also logs rides on its own if you forget your computer, then sends the data to Garmin Connect later. Plus, it connects over ANT+ and Bluetooth, and there are no magnets to fit.
Key features
- Hub-mounted, no magnets needed
- Accurate speed and distance without GPS
- Records rides on its own and syncs later
- ANT+ and Bluetooth connectivity
- Fits a wide range of hub sizes
- See the full details on the Garmin Australia website.

Who is the Garmin Speed Sensor 2 for?
It suits anyone riding indoors, commuting through tunnels or wanting precise distance. Also, the speed and cadence bundle saves money if you need both.
What’s in the box
Speed Sensor 2, hub band (two sizes) and documentation.
Fitting and pairing
First, wrap the sensor around your front or rear hub with the band that fits best. Then spin the wheel to wake it up and pair it to your device. Also, set your wheel size, or let your Edge work it out from GPS. As a result, set-up takes less than five minutes. Plus, if you ride indoors on a wheel-on trainer, fit it to the rear hub so it reads your trainer speed. Either way, the battery is a common CR2032 cell that is easy to replace at home.
