The X-LAB ST5+ in Nightfall Black is a commuter e-bike built to replace short car trips. Its mid-drive motor and 619Wh battery help on hills and with a loaded rack, while 2.4-inch tyres and an 80mm suspension fork smooth out rough roads. It comes ready for daily use, with a rear rack, alloy mudguards, an integrated front light and a Quad Lock phone mount.
Why the X-LAB ST5+ Nightfall Black works for Melbourne commuting
Whether it is Port Melbourne to the CBD, a loop of the Bay Trail or the school and shopping run, the X-LAB ST5+ is set up to do it every day. The 85Nm mid-drive motor gives a natural, pedal-driven feel and flattens out bridges, headwinds off the bay and a full rack of groceries. The 619Wh battery is removable, so you can charge it inside at home or at work, and Apple Find My is built into the bike, so you can track it from your iPhone if it ever goes missing.
Wide 2.4-inch tyres and an 80mm suspension fork take the sting out of tram tracks, cobbles and patchy bike lanes, and 4-piston hydraulic brakes with 180mm rotors give strong, predictable stopping in the wet. The Nightfall Black finish keeps it low-key and hides the grime of a Melbourne winter.
